Meyaada maan movie review

Meyaada maan is a hilarious romantic musical that follows the lives of idhayam Murali,a happy go lucky  lighm music  singer,and his long time one side love fos.madhumitha.the film celebrates love , friend ship,and family, featuring chart buster songs by santhosh Narayan and pradeep Kumar.


Meyaada maan 1st half excellent.one side love  friendship.good songs and fun vaibhav acting is good  songs through too many work well.screen play is fresh  good entertaining movie with unlimited comedy dialogues.

Meyaadha Maan Story: A youngster who loves a girl tries to commit suicide and to dissuade him, his friend reaches out to the girl, setting in motion events that unexpectedly turn out to be life changing.



Meyaadha Maan Review: "Don't be surprised if this short
becomes a feature film in the near future," we had written in our review of 'Madhu', which was one of the six shorts in the anthology that was Bench Talkies. Now, 'Madhu' has been expanded upon and turned into Meyaadha Maan, a romcom that is centred around a man who cannot bring up himself to express his love.



This is Murali (Vaibhav, fitting the part to the T) or as his
friends call him, Idhayam Murali, who has been in love with Madhu (Priya Bhavani Shankar, solid), his college mate, for three years. On the day of her engagement, he calls his friend Vinoth (Vivek Prasanna, in what should be a career breakthrough role) and announces that he is going to commit suicide. To dissuade him, Vinoth and their friend Kishore reach out to Madhu and seek her help. The ensuing phone call sets in motion events that turn out to be life changing.



While the short film was entirely about the 'conversation' that Murali and Madhu have over phone, Rathna Kumar has built Meyaadha Maan imagining what would have happened next. He builds the world of Murali, and introduces the character of his sister Sudarvizhi (Induja, who makes a very impressive debut). Sudar also gets a romantic track for Sudar, with Vinoth, and this track, in fact, is written with such subtlety that it even makes us think lesser of Murali's romance.



This element, in fact, changes the tone of the story — while
the short largely had the vibe of a Siva Manasula Sakthi, this film resemble more of Atta Kathi. Like that film, this one,too, is set in North Madras and gives us a taste of life in this region, aided by Vidhu Ayyanna's striking cinematography and Pradeep Kumar and Santhosh Narayanan's catchy music. It is a little more filmi than Atta Kathi in terms of treatment,though it is still a worthy addition to the sub-genre of North Chennai cinema.



Rathna Kumar also manages to retain the humour that was
his short's USP. The dialogue, especially, is laugh-out-loud
funny in quite a few places (Aadhaar card-la kooda azhaga
iruppa). That said, the director, who has lovingly crafted his principal characters, resorts to caricature in writing the
characters if Madhu's upper-class, upper-caste parents. If
only had he presented their concerns — on why Murali might not be an ideal match for Madhu — in a practical manner, the film would have risen a notch above its romcom credentials.



Ironically, for a film that originated as a short film, Meyaadha Maan is overlong. Many scenes go on far longer than they should and make us wish they had been tightly written and edited. And the film goes on for 20 or more minutes even after it finds a resolution for the two romances, by introducing a conflict that seems to have been intended mainly to circle back to the opening scene of the film. However, since he has also gotten us invested in these interesting characters, we overlook this flaw and take it as a reason to be with these characters for some more time.
