Y FULL MOVIE REVIEW:-
Some unexpected events on a street catch everybody present there by
surprise. The movie is about how the characters there, react to the incidents
taking place.
Director Sunil
Ibrahim has succeeded in making his third film a convincing thriller with a
line-up of mostly fresh faces. Engaging the audience to the plot through the
characters of Arun (Dheeraj Denny) and Teena (Sruthi Susen Sam), he takes the
spectators for a suspense-filled ride, backed by a strong script. The title 'Y'
seems to be apt as the thread of curiousity is kept unbroken with each scene
before completing the task with a fitting climax.
The film
doesn't really have a hero and heroine, but the plot begins with the sweet pair
of Arun and Teena, who become victims of stares on a street at night. Even as
he acts macho to save his girl from lewd comments, Teena gets kidnapped in the
blink of an eye. A series of twists and turns follows, and it becomes the scene
of two parallel sequences, all happening through the night. The dark night
becomes a metaphor for people who behave like saints during the day but show
their true colour during the night.
Alencier
Ley Lopez comes with yet another realistic cop role. The film scores high for
experimentation that too with just fresh faces including Abhiram Suresh and
Reshma Shenoy. Even those new actors who play baddies have come up with
convincing performances and 'Ayal Njanalla' actor Jins Baskar is worth a
special mention. The second half is sure to keep the viewers glued to the edge
of their seats.
The
gang leader Benoy (Rahul R Nair) and his assistant Subair (Anand Manmadhan)
bring some light moments for the audience. Mejo Joseph's background score also
helps spice up the thriller. Youngsters Arun and Teena
are enjoying their time together on a shopping street and suddenly some
unexpected events happen. The film revolves around a chain of events that occur
on a night at a busy shopping-cum residential area.
