GOWDRU HOTEL FULL MOVIE REVIEW
GOWDRU HOTEL FULL MOVIE REVIEW:-
Inspired by the super hit
Malayalam film, Ustad Hotel, Gowdru Hotel revolves around the relationship
between a grandfather and grandson with food being the major highlight of the
film.
Rishi is the son of a rich
businessman, whose heart is set on becoming a chef. His father, who is the son
of a small-time hotelier in Mysuru, hates this decision of his son. When Rishi
is forced to live with his grandfather, he understands what love for food is.P Kumar has chosen to remake the
critically-and-commercially-acclaimed Malayalam film Ustad Hotel, with newbie
Rachan Chandra as the lead. The original was hailed because of the chemistry
between two solid performers playing grandfather and grandson. While Prakash
Raj is his usual best, playing the passionate hotelier and the loving
grandfather, Rachan's effort falls short in matching Prakash's.
The film is essentially a mirror of the original, of course with local replacements like Ragi Mudde, Donne Biryani and even Akki Roti Pizza! There is the love story, too, which has Vedhika returning to Kannada screens, playing the role originally essayed by Nithya Menen. While there are some heartwarming and some entertaining moments, the parts don't quite add up to a whole.
One also can't stop recalling the original, where importance was given to detailing, like the bond between Rishi and his four sisters, which is missing because of the rushed effort. Additionally, the climax also is a shoddy affair, and the hero's epiphany moment seems underwhelming, unlike that seen in the original. Another big let down is the music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, which doesn't lift the story one bit, despite the much hullabaloo around his debut.
Though for fans of Prakash Raj, this is a treat, for you can see the nuances and subtlety that he has in his repertoire. The way he quotes Manku Timmana Kagga with ease makes you want to wish he was your Kannada professor. Vedhika, too, adds charm to the film. One wishes Rachan had put in a tad more effort to his role. The comic ensemble have their two-bit to do in the film. Go ahead, watch it if you want to check out an okay effort that is nearly salvaged in the second half.

It's a great movie with lot of fun moments and a really
touching ending with a lot of meaning. A complete family entertainer! Even
though this is Rachan Chandra's first movie he has acted like a seasoned actor,
it's really hard believe that this is his debut. All the actors have done a
great job and the direction is just flawless with a already hit story! If you
want to see a light hearted and a absolutely entertaining movie, please don't
miss this at any cost! I wish more screens play this movie so people of
Karnataka don't miss this masterpiece.
